CARTOGRAPHIES FROM RIO

Despite it's consistency as an idea, it became commonplace to illustrate Rio de Janeiro as a city marked by inequalities and invisible boundaries, segmented into formal and informal areas, south and north. All this is fact already known and widely accepted, being on the agenda as a challenge which needs to be addressed immediately. PROJECT, EXHIBITION & PARTICIPATION

In the project NOVAS CARTOGRAFIAS content generated from mapping and user paticipation will then be transformed into an exhibition and, in a second step, on a digital platform in the form of website or application, according to the work's process. The digital platform and the exhibition promote different types of interaction. The online device is open and available to all, providing a direct interaction with the web user. The exhibition serves as a space where that platform is presented and discussed, an event that features not only the result of the work of data collection, but the future of this open platform through the topics mentioned above.
